Today on the blog I wanted to share my skin care routine. I’ll be honest, I haven’t changed what face wash I use since the beginning of high school but if something has worked for you for nearly a decade, why ruin it by trying something new. I have extremely sensitive skin (as in I still use Johnson baby lotion and scent free detergent). I had tried Proactiv, drugstore brands, and a number of products the dermatologist recommended for my sensitive skin and never saw improvements for longer than a couple of weeks or I would have an awful reaction. My mom bought Clinique for me after using it herself and since then, it has become my go-to for acne treatments, exfoliating, and even make-up products. I wanted to break down what I use in the evenings while getting ready for bed and what I wash my face with in the morning. You can also take Clinique’s Skin Diagnostic on their website here which will recommend the 3-step product types that fits best for you.
- Clinique Facial Soap
- Clarifying Lotion (4)
- Moisturizing Lotion
- Acne Solutions All Over Clearing Treatment– I put this on problem areas when needed
There are a couple of rules I live by when it comes to preventing any breakouts or harsh treatment of my skin after wearing make-up all day long. I try to wash my face as soon as I get home. Obviously, this is hard when you go from work to school or out with friends but if I have nothing going on that evening, I will get home and wash my face first thing. I also never sleep in my makeup. I keep these face wipes in both the bathroom and bedroom that you can find at your local Walmart. I have had friends in the past that go out and accidentally leave makeup on at night when they get home and honestly, I cannot even fall asleep knowing I have it on. Last but not least, I try to go without makeup on my face as often as possible. If I’m going to the gym on a Saturday morning, I don’t need it. If I’m sitting at my house all day or grocery shopping and running errands, I don’t need it.
I hope this information has helped you. You can shop the products I use on a daily basis by clicking the images below. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog, I truly appreciate it. Have a great rest of the week.
