Monday’s after a four day weekend getaway are always the hardest. Monday’s back to work with a final later this evening are especially hard. Today on the blog I wanted to share my Orlando, Florida recap with some of my favorite places to eat and see. We flew out to Orlando on Thursday morning and came back yesterday. When we landed Thursday, we headed straight towards a late lunch at Brio’s Tuscan Grille inside the Mall at Millenia. I had the lobster bisque and the best sausage, pepperoni, and ricotta flatbread pizza around. I highly recommend for a quick bite to eat before walking a mile through the mall. We made a few stops in H&M and Lush but mainly window shopped. (Once a shopping addict, always a shopping addict)

After the mall, we went to check in to our hotel. We chose to stay at the Marriott Grande Vista which you can check out by clicking the link here. I feel like we needed an extra day of vacation simply to walk around and enjoy everything the resort had to offer. It has three restaurants on property, multiple pools, and private villas with balconies. We chose to hit the pool that evening and eat on site at the Copa Loca Bar & Grill. The shrimp tacos are a must. The Marriott Grande Vista was the perfect hotel to stay at and walking around past Christmas trees next to decorated palm trees gave a holiday feel in Florida.
Friday morning we woke up and made our way to Universal. It was a 7 mile Uber ride from the resort we were staying at. We learned that day that it is off season for the parks so while they close a little earlier at 7 p.m. there was not a single line to wait in for shows, rides, or dining. The third grade girl reading Harry Potter in me was ecstatic to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and ride the Hogwarts Express from Universal to Islands of Adventure. I even stopped to try a Butter Beer.
After walking over 11 miles (25,644 steps yall!), we headed to City Walk and ate dinner at The Cowfish. This is a sushi and burger bar overlooking Universal and the water. You can check them out here. Afterwards we hung out at the NBS Sports Grill & Brew.
Saturday morning we drove to Cape Canaveral for deep sea fishing through the Orlando Princess. The weather was perfect and they offer inclusive packages with breakfast, lunch, and drinks on board the ship while you fish. Unfortunately, this was my first time on such a small boat in the ocean and I was sick the entire trip. The crew was great and everybody we met was nice. I would recommend if you can handle being on the ocean a little better than I do. They offer half day, full day, and night shark fishing trips. We had dinner when we got off the boat right next door at Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar where live music played outside and the best fresh fish on the menu.
My Sunday morning was filled with flying home, doing laundry, and running errands for the week. I hope this helps if you want an easy getaway to Orlando!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I truly appreciate it.
